  1. Don’t forget a HUGE plus with QRafter, you can scan from the photo album. Brilliant! When someone emails you a code, you just save it and scan from photo album! Simple!

I tried other scanners, but it annoyed me that to use them I needed a code in front of me, meaning paper or a laptop. QRafter removes the need as it can do it for you!

The app is a seriously-great piece of work!

  2. Hey Jeff,

Just wanted to bring to your attention that Qrafter is not the only app that shares to both Facebook and Twitter as you stated in bold at the end of this article. There are plenty of apps out there that do this. Off the top of my head, QRReader and SqrShare are free options that both have this functionality for example, and there are many more.

So noted – and statement deleted. I was evidently misinformed. Of the half dozen apps I use only one shared to social and that was i-Nigma, which only shares to Twitter (and it didn’t do that very well).

  3. Hi Jeff,

There is also QR Pal which offers social sharing via Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn plus it has some other useful features. I think it’s only available for Android at the moment but I think the iPhone version is out soon.

    • Jeff Korhan says:

Thanks Adam – I wonder how many QR apps there are out there? Seems there is always another one.

Posting to LinkedIn would be handy.

  4. I’m a realtor with chamberlaingroup.ca, and i think this is something to try. I believe QR codes will be around long term because it seems popular with the younger generation the trend will just continue.

It’s a great technology. Thanks for a great read

    • Jeff Korhan says:

You bet Jared. I’m pretty sure most realtors are using virtual tours. Seem that a code that links to that is a no-brainer.

  5. Check out http://socialqrcode.com/features.php

They offer plenty of Social Features with QR Codes, including Sharing content on FB and Twitter through QR Codes.

  6. Does anyone know how to link a QR code DIRECTLY to a landing page on Facebook? For example a welcome page or easypromo page (both apps). Thanks

    • Jeff Korhan says:

LC – This should not be problem – just link to the respective page using any app.

I use Likify.net to link to my Welcome page as it shows the “thumbs up” that indicates the Facebook relevance of the code.

    • I think LC was talking about linking a QR Code to a landing page on their Facebook fan page, not linking to a landing page with a “Like” button.

There really isn’t a way to have QR Code scanners land on a custom tab or sweepstakes tab. Those are reserved for laptop/desktop browsing and not for Facebook mobile.

Really the best thing to do is create your own mobile landing page and link to that.

  7. I’m not sure that QR codes are going to be around forever because so many people are misusing them. I actually wrote an article about it the other week!

  8. Hi Jeff how can i buy shares in this idea yours Joe
