Valuable YouTube Tips That Are Often Overlooked

Today I wrapped up a presentation I’ll be giving this week to a group of transportation and tourism professionals.  In that presentation I have a short video on YouTube tips that I’ve used for years, but that I have come to learn are still largely undiscovered.

Here they are, as described in the video above.

1.  Pimp Out Your YouTube Channel

Set aside an hour some day to work with the settings and themes to create a nice, professional YouTube channel.  Your YouTube channel should reflect your personality and your brand.  I selected some complimentary colors to give mine some punch.  If you are willing to go a step further, you can also add a background that further reinforces your brand.

2.  Select Key Words to Complement Your Name or Brand

What are the key words that you want to be associated with? Mine are small business social media marketing speaker – or something along those lines.  The problem is YouTube only gives you so much space to work with, so you have to be discerning.  I chose small business.

3.  Add Contact Information and Links Within Your Video Descriptions

If you want to take full advantage of the social media channels you have to get creative.  When they ask for information, consider what will be most helpful for both you and your audience. A prime example is the description of your video.

You obviously want to add an appropriate description, but you also should take advantage of adding links back to your website, blog, or other relevant content. A key is to use http:// with your links to be sure they become clickable links.

These little tips are just 5 minutes from this particular 60 minute presentation.  So, if you find value in them and would like more, please do me the favor of referring me to whomever you may know that hire professional speakers that are 100% dedicated to helping small business audiences.

I guarantee my work.  If I don’t deliver, my fee is refunded with no questions asked.  To learn more just visit my speaking page, where you can see videos of me speaking live, some of my program descriptions, and my schedule.

By the way, the majority of my audiences are non-technical. Over the last year I’ve presented to contractors, health care, real-estate, and hospitality professionals – among others.  If you work with a bureau, ask them about me as I am represented by numerous speaker bureaus.

Until tomorrow,  Jeff
