If you had any doubts about the future of mobile technology, it's time to smell the coffee that is brewing right now.
Venerable tech blog TechCrunch reported today that the iPad business is already a bigger business than Apple’s portable computer business. That includes MacBooks, MacBook Pros, and MacBook Airs.
And they note that it’s within a whisper of surpassing Apple’s entire Mac business in terms of revenue.
I personally find this stunning!
What This Means for Your Small Business
For years I've been saying that blogs will replace websites. I've never had a doubt about this for the simple reason that blogs are more SEO friendly than websites.
Apps are the next step in this evolution, and that freight train is already on the tracks – especially if you happen to own an iPad.
Here's how I see this.
You can have one multi-purpose knife in the drawer – or you can specialize. Functionality is one thing, but having a lithe instrument that is designed for enhancing portability and speed opens up more opportunities for consumption.
What Consumers Want
When you step into your favorite restaurant, you are ready to be served. And it is the same with news and other content that you consume on a daily basis.
In some ways, this need for speed is ironic – like going back to the the '70's and the heyday of fast food. Times have changed though, and fast food now includes healthy alternatives such as sushi – prepared with a sharp and portable little knife.
That sharp little knife is the iPad.
Do You Want to Be Heard?
If you have a message that you expect to reach its destination, then you want to be blogging. The RSS technology that feeds your blog content to the inboxes and readers of your targeted audience is readily transferrable to mobile apps.
Sure, there are some compatibility issues involved with making it suitable to the various appliances, but in my opinion, that is no reason to sit back and let your competitors get a leg up. If you wait for all the lights to be green before you get started on this path you will never get out of your driveway.
In other words, if you have something to say, you need to start blogging. After that, start investigating sites such as AppMakr that allow you to distribute that content with an app. Oh yeah, and the cost of doing this is …free.
I'll be honest, I personally have been waiting for the second generation iPad. I'm hoping I don't have to wait much longer, because I don't want to miss the train that is just about to leave the station.

Jeff
Jeff-
Thanks for taking the time to do
the research. I wouldn’t have had any
idea on where to start.
Thanks again.
As always—be well and stay the course.

Apples in connection with the global market can greatly increase the market share, but sales department is not responsible for the IPAD eight or iPhone. However, as the Mac is about twice the weight of revenue, or iPad or iPhone. In other words, the ASP for Mac is about twice the iPhone and iPad AEP means that every Mac sold twice as much revenue.
One thing I am surprised that I did not hear about in the early months of 2010, nobody had IPAD, but almost everyone has a computer. Assuming that the computer takes an average of three years if more than 2 years of sales already complied with the request. Not that mitigates IPAD sale, but I think its an interesting signal from the computer normally.
