There's an App for This

and you can get it for Free!  Web_site This is what the button will look like, only a heck of a lot smallerTo get it, just search for Jeff Korhan at the app store.

What's The Benefit

Once your phone completes the initial download, you will always have the 25 most recent posts, regardless of your Internet connection.  So, if I've shared something useful and you have a need to reference that information, it's right in your back pocket.

This may be a good time to remind everyone about this blog:  It's a practical guide for entrepreneurs and small business owners who want to maximize their Web visibility, reputation, and referrals with social medial or Internet Marketing.  The app brings those insights right to your phone.

How Does it Work

When you build an iPhone app you appreciate the grace and simplicity of the RSS feeds.  This is what brings information from the Web to your phone.  It's sort of an "always" on switch that brings the news to you so that its ready when you are.

I'll be honest.  In these days of free and easy new media technology, there isn't much that get me excited, but this is one.  There is something about the graceful and smooth functioning of most iPhone apps that I find very cool indeed.

Using the App

Once you download the app you will get a running list of my 25 most recent posts.  Tap on one and it expands so that you can read the entire post, while also having the ability to follow the links. Tap again and you get several options. You can go back and read more posts, or share the post you have open via Twitter or by sending it as an email.  Naturally, I'm am pleased if you will consider this once in a while!

Building an App

If you do plan on building your own app, I can give a thumbs up to the folks at Appmakr.com that built mine.  You should be prepared to spend some time learning which images you will need, and have a qualified graphics artist create them in the correct sizes.

You can add more functionality to these apps than I did, such as your Twitter feed.  My thought was to keep it simple and limited to the one thing I am 100% committed to long-term – and that is this blog.

Until later, I'm beginning to hear voices….

"If you build it…..!"

Let me know how you like the app – and anything you would like to see in future posts.
